I believe there is something magical about September.
The summer has slowly burned itself out and green things turn too gold.
It is an organised, competent month, with the back to school vibe and the call to get organised for the winter ahead.
September has me reaching to the back of the kitchen cabinets to clear and take stock.
It makes me want to make jam.
I am making (small) plans for Mabon – the Autumn Equinox on the 22nd September. Just some baking and making. Maybe some autumnal wreaths for the doors and herby biscuits and probably a good hearty seasonal stew.
We are slowly in the process of renovating and decorating our house, so this is still taking up time, but we do have some plans for wooden toy storage units which I am looking forward to designing and building.
I am also making some ‘enchanted oils’ for my sister in law to sell on her market stall. So, this week I have been gathering herbs and flowers to dry from the garden and researching the best combinations to use for each oil. I will share the finished products over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I am making the most of the back to school vibe and using the seasonal energy to clean, clear and take stock……..and maybe make some jam?
